Commencement 2009

FAQs on Invitation Cards

How many invitation cards would I be given?
Each graduate who has indicated his/her attendance will be given 2 invitation cards for parents/guests. In lieu of the 2 invitation cards, each valedictorian and award winner will be given 4 and 2 VIP cards respectively. These invitation cards may be collected together with the academic dress at the Multi-Purpose Sports Hall.

Can I bring my children to attend the ceremony?
As a courtesy to other audience members, infants in arms and children below 6 years will not be admitted into the Auditorium. They may view the live webcast of the ceremony in Suite 2 (University Cultural Centre, Level 1) instead.

When will I be given the invitation cards?
The package (one Graduate Attendance Card and two Parents/Guests Invitation Cards) will be given at the time when you collect the academic dress at the Multi-Purpose Sports Hall. If you have not ordered the academic dress, please also come at the scheduled time and inform the staff that you only require the package of Attendance/Invitation Cards. They will assist and show you to the appropriate booth.

Please liaise with NUS Multi-Purpose Co-operative Society Ltd at if you are not able to come at the scheduled time.

I have misplaced my invitation cards. Could you replace them for me?
Due to the limited seating capacity of the University Cultural Centre Auditorium, we are unable to issue you any other invitation cards. You may request for additional cards for spare seats, if available, using the online request form (available on 12 June 2009).

How can I request for additional invitation cards for my guests?
If there are spare invitation card(s) for the ceremony you are attending, you can submit your request via the online request form (available on 12 June 2009). Allocation of the additional invitation card(s) will be by ballot.

Why is it that there is no extra invitation card when my friend is not attending the ceremony?
We usually invite more graduates to each ceremony than the maximum number that the UCC Auditorium can hold. Thus, there will be no extra cards if most of the invited graduates are attending.
