Frequently Asked Questions on Invitation Package/Cards

Invitation Package

Q1. How many invitation cards will I be given?

Each graduate who has indicated his/her attendance will be given 2 Guest Invitation Cards.

The entitlement to Invitation Cards is as follows:

Each Graduate 2 General Guest Invitation Cards
Each Valedictorian 4 Reserved Seating Invitation Cards
Each Award Winner 2 Reserved Seating Invitation Cards
Valedictorians who are also Award Winners 4 Reserved Seating Invitation cards (not 4+2 Cards)
The invitation cards are in the Invitation Package which will be given to you at the time you collect your academic dress at the Multi-Purpose Sports Hall.

Q2. When can I collect the invitation cards?  From where?

The invitation cards are in the Invitation Package which will be distributed by the official gown vendor, Serangoon Broadway. The package will only be ready for collection from 28 June 2019 onwards.

Q3. I did not order the academic dress. How do I collect the invitation cards?

You may still go to Serangoon Broadway to collect your Invitation Package from 28 June 2019 onwards.

Q4. Can I ask someone to collect the Invitation Cards for me?

Yes, you may authorize a representative to collect the academic dress and/or Invitation Package on your behalf or have the academic dress (and Invitation Package) delivered to you at a fee. Please refer to the collection information here.

Q5. I have misplaced my invitation cards. Can I get a replacement?

Due to the limited seating capacity of the University Cultural Centre (UCC) Hall, we are unable to replace your lost invitation cards. You may approach the Information Counter that is located at the UCC Foyer on the day of your ceremony to check if there are any unused or returned invitation cards for the ceremony.

Additional Invitation Cards

Q1. How can I request additional invitation cards for my guests?

Most ceremonies will not have spare seats. However, you may submit your request for additional invitation cards when registering attendance via via myEduRec (Academics > Commencement Registration).

Issuance of additional invitation cards (if any) depends on availability of seats at that particular ceremony and allocation is by balloting.

Q2. How do I check if I am successful in the additional card ballot?

You may check for the additional cards ballot outcome via myEduRec (Academics > Commencement Registration) from 18 June 2019 onwards.

Q3. Can I appeal for additional invitation cards after the ballot result is released?

The ballot result is final. We regret to inform that we are unable to attend to any appeals/additional requests.

Q4. Why is it that there are no extra invitation cards available when my friend is not attending the ceremony?

We usually invite more graduates to each ceremony than the maximum number that the UCC Hall can hold. Thus, there will be no extra invitation cards if most of the invited graduates are attending.

Q5. I am not successful in the additional card ballot.  However, I really need one more card.  Is there other way to get it?  Can I buy from you?

The Commencement guest invitation cards are not for sale.  You may approach the Information Counter at the UCC Foyer on the day of your ceremony to check if there are any unused or returned invitation cards for the ceremony.  If there are, they will be given out on a first-come-first-served basis.
