Business Plan Competitions

Competitions

Business plan competitions are becoming increasingly part of an important national level entrepreneurial education and economic program in many countries. In US and Europe, various university, national and regional level business plan competitions over the years have successfully spawned off thousands of entrepreneurial ventures, with a few high-flyers already successfully listed on the stock exchange or acquired by technology giants like Cisco Systems in hundred-millions dollar deals.

In the case of National University of Singapore, NUS Entrepreneurship Centre runs various business plan competitions including the national-level Start-Up@Singapore Business Plan Competition and Enterprise Launcher aimed at fostering interest in and giving impetus to start-ups in Singapore. The business plan competitions not only serve as a major vehicle for youth entrepreneurial education, but also serve as a rigorous entrepreneurial training& support program for aspiring entrepreneurs.
