Abstract:
Developing Entrepreneurial Resilience In a Globalised Business Environment. Gobalisation is rapidly changing the world's economic landscape in a staggering fashion, far beyond what computerisation has done in the past two decades. It is creating and forcing profound changes in start-ups, business organizations - large and small, both in terms of processes and in the nature of their final products. In Singapore, a successful transition to an increasingly knowledge and technology-based economy will help it break away from its limited factor inputs, thus, enabling it to concentrate on accomplishing more with existing resources. Additionally, it will help in beefing up Singapore's competitiveness through capability enhancement of enterprises, particularly SMEs, that are capable of spotting trends and winning customers through creative products and services and those that can offer customer value through quality and innovative work practices.
This presentation will take the audience briefly through the past, where turbulence was indeed 'a familiar feature' of the world's economic landscape, focuses on the present globalisation issues and how entrepreneurial ventures could co-exist an thrive in the current and future competitive and increasingly globalised environment and remain resilient.
