Abstract:

Are Technopreneurs born or made? With the decoding of the human genome, we have just begun to uncover the secrets of a successful entrepreneur.

Mr. Anton will cover the art and science behind cultivating and inheriting Technopreneurial traits. He will also briefly share his vision in terms of the latest developments in IT and its impact.

 

About the Speaker:

Mr. J. Anton Ravindran is the Group CEO and Co-Founder of Genovate Solutions. He has been instrumental in expanding Genovate as a regional player in IT services, consulting and training. For the past 17years, he has worked for some of the major MNCs including IBM and Computer Associates in the US and Sun Microsystems for Asia South, both in the technical and management capacity. Whilst at Sun Microsystems, he won the President’s Club Award for outstanding performance in 1999.

He has a Bachelor of Science Degree in IT awarded by the University of Texas and an MBA conferred by the University of North Texas. He is married to Mala, a Singaporean, and a practising lawyer.

Mr. Anton holds professional memberships as industry nominated/appointed member including:

  • Founding Chairperson of the Internet Industry Association of Singapore (IIAS)

  • Assistant Secretary of Singapore Education International

  • Member of National Internet Advisory Committee

  • Among others…

Mr. Anton also is actively involved in grassroots activities at Taman Jurong GRC and he is a member of the CCC. Mr. Anton was selected as one of the top Entrepreneur of the Year (EYA) 2005 – a Rotary ASME Award. Mr. Anton was also selected in another award as one of the top SICCI-DBS Singapore Indian Entrepreneurs (SIEA) of 2005 for medium size companies’ category. Additionally, Mr. Anton bagged the Business Leadership Award 2005 by GOPIO.

Mr Anton has also appeared in CNBC Asia, Channel News Asia, MIS Asia, Network Computing Asia, The Straits Times, The Business Times, Lian He Zao Bao and Today amongst other.
