Abstract:
Patents are filed, SEED funding is secure, now the rest is easy – right?
As most entrepreneurs experience, these are only the first in a series of ongoing challenges facing going concerns. The presentation will discuss some of the challenges and techniques used for success. Several case examples will be used.
About the Speaker:
Dr. Cathy Park is Managing Director of BioVenture Centre, a biomedical incubator located in Singapore. BioVenture Centre (BVC) is a BD (Becton, Dickinson and Company) majority owned subsidiary offering facilities and business advisory services to early stage biomedical companies. Dr. Park has held several positions in start-up companies, including CEO. In addition to Singapore, Dr. Park spent seven years in Asia working with start-up companies, first in Indonesia as a department head and then in Thailand as General Manager. She was also an equity research analyst specializing in biomedical small cap and private equity companies, working closely with investment institutions.
Dr. Park holds a DVM degree in Veterinary Medicine from the University of Minnesota and an MBA in marketing and finance from the University of Texas Austin.
