Abstract

In this talk, a well-known Silicon Valley-based Chinese Entrepreneur, Chairman of Hua Yuan and now Venture Partner of a leading US VC fund, Min Zhu, will share his experience with the technology venture community in Singapore and the aspiring young entrepreneurs from our universities. He will share his experience from founding a startup in Silicon Valley, joining the league of Nasdaq listed companies, and now a frequent flyer across Pacific Ocean between Silicon Valley and China.

About the Speaker

As a co-founder of WebEx Communications and its key technology architect, Min Zhu has guided the evolution of the company's service capabilities from a Web-based meeting application to a carrier-class information-switching network and robust services platform that enables measurable productivity increases across the enterprise. Min has served as the lead architect of WebEx's patented MediaTone technology, and continues to use his extensive experience with mainframes, database systems, networking and communications, telephony, PC collaboration software, and expert systems to enable WebEx to become the leader in the delivery of web communication services.

Little has been known how Min related his 7 years working experience in the farm in China, to endure multiple failures while pursuing his dream of creating a $1 billion market capitalization company. Min is now embarking another journey showing the way to successfully leverage cross borders talents, resources, and markets opportunities between US and Asia.

Min's visionary career spans 16 years in senior positions at Price Waterhouse and Expert Edge, and as a co-founder of Future Labs, which was acquired by Quarterdeck 1996. Min developed his technology expertise at the IBM Scientific Center in Palo Alto and holds an M.S. in Engineering from Stanford University.
