Abstract

Robert Chandran founded Chemoil in 1981 with just 2 employees (himself and his secretary). Today, Chemoil is considered the largest independent bunkering company in the United States of America. Her Gross Revenue on a group basis exceeds US$3.5 billion now. How did he achieve all this?.

Come and be inspired by Bob, the entrepreneur, as he narrates what it takes to be build a Global Company.


About the Speaker


Robert V. Chandran formed the company in September 1981. Prior to founding Chemoil, he was General Manager, Chemical Products, Bunker and machinery for Transchem, Inc., San Francisco, a chemical products trading company. He was with Transchem from 1976 to 1981. Mr. Chandran was also Assistant Vice President Marketing for Chemical Industries of the Philippines from 1974-1976. He has held several other corporate positions in the Philippines.

He received his Masters of Science in Chemistry from Madras University (India) and his MBA from the Asian Institute of Management (Philippines). He has completed the Harvard University Owners and Presidents Managers (OPM) Program. He is a member of the American Petroleum Institute, The Executive Committee (TEC), and the Indus Entrepreneurs (TIE). He also serves on the Board of Governors of the Asian Institute of Management (Philippines), and on the Investment Committee of Worchester College (England).
