Peeling away layers of impurities

Ramakrishna Mallampati, a PhD candidate at the National University of Singapore’s Department of Chemistry at the Faculty of Science, talks about how his research has led to the discovery of a novel water purification method using apple and tomato peels. The peels, which offer a low cost and efficient option of removing the different types of pollutants in water, could just be the solution to clean water in economically and technologically disadvantaged communities.
