Why Give? – Impact of Giving

Private philanthropy has allowed NUS to improve the student experience through bursaries, scholarships and innovative programmes; attract and retain world class researchers; and build a conducive learning environment.

In Academic Year 2015, thanks to private giving, NUS awarded over 4,500 bursaries and scholarships.

University Town’s unique programmes and small class sizes; the Lee Kong Chian Museum, Singapore’s first natural history museum; and the NUS Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine’s status as one of Asia’s top medical schools are just a few examples of the impact of private giving.

The Bursary will give back to our education system to provide new generations of students with the opportunities I had that led to a fulfilling career and put me in a position to help people.
