Who we are

The management of risks is a shared responsibility at all levels within the university. The Office of Risk Management facilitates the risk management process by developing risk management policies and frameworks for implementation across the University. We also work closely together with key stakeholders, be it faculties or research institutes or administrative units, in the implementation journey, which would include assessing key risk areas, developing useful key risk indicators and meaningful reporting.

Our vision

To be a trusted business and governance partner in the sustainable creation, optimization and protection of the university’s overall enterprise value through a best-in-class risk and governance system.

Our mission

Instill and embed a proactive risk culture within the university that is complemented by:
- a comprehensive and robust risk management and governance framework;
- a structured methodology and approach in anticipating, identifying and assessing and prioritizing, treating, monitoring and responding to the portfolio of risks across the organization.

This is further underpinned by robust risk governance, effective policies and processes in enabling effective execution and implementation.

Risk management within the university

The National University of Singapore is committed to establishing a dynamic and robust risk management function as an integral part of all university activities and a core capability.
