[OSA Dean’s Dialogue] "Are You Future-ready?" by Minister Grace Fu
How does the future look like and what are the elements of being future-ready in this hyper competitive world? How important are academic results versus soft skills, EQ and the ability to work alongside with people? Ms Grace Fu, Minister for Culture, Community and Youth, will share her thoughts on the traits of a successful person and how you can get ahead in an uncertain world.
Ms Grace Fu graduated with a Bachelor of Accountancy (Honours), and subsequently obtained a Masters of Business Administration from the National University of Singapore. She began her career in 1985 with the Overseas Union Bank, and later with the Haw Par Group, in the areas of corporate planning, financial controls and business development. She was later Chief Executive Officer of PSA South East Asia and Japan. In 2006, Ms Fu was elected as Member of Parliament, and has held office in the Prime Minister’s Office, Ministry for Foreign Affairs and Ministry for Environment and Water Resources, and helmed senior appointments in other ministries. Today, Ms Fu is Minister for Culture, Community and Youth, and Leader of the House. In addition, she chairs the National Youth Council, National Integration Council, and sits on the board of the People’s Association. Ms Fu enjoys an active lifestyle, which includes running, yoga and hiking. She is married with three sons.
