Applying for NUS Accommodation
 

APPLICATION PROCESS

Thank you for your interest in NUS accommodation. The following are pointers that all applicants should note during application for an NUS Graduate accommodation.

1. Note these Terms and Conditions

a- Read and understand the Accommodation Policy before submitting an application.

b- List of payment modes, hostel fees, penalties.
    Note:
    S$26.75      Application Fee payable during online application
    S$200.00    Hostel Fee advance payable during online acceptance of offer
    Fees paid are non-refundable.

c- Selection for NUS yo:HA hostels will be via random ballot with new graduate students
    receiving a higher consideration during application process. 
 
d- Married Graduate students seeking family accommodation must have their spouse
    and/or children (max 2 children) accompanying them during the duration of the semester
    in order to qualify for priority selection for GSA at Prince George's Park Residences. There
    is a maximum limit of 2 adults and 2 children per apartment.

e- Successful students will be offered one semester stay only. Students keen in staying in
    the subsequent semester must submit an application and required documentations.
    Selection will be based on priority selection highlighted in the Accommodation Policy
    with incoming prospective students receiving higher priority over current students.

e- Vacation stay is optional and you need to apply for it.

f- Students who cancel their stay will be subjected to cancellation penalties.

g- Students who breach housing agreement, accommodation rules, NUS terms and
    conditions may have their stay terminated. 

h- Students barred from accommodation (e.g. disciplinary issues/ outstanding fees) will not
    be eligible to apply for any NUS accommodation.

2. Choice of Accommodations

The following accommodation options are currently available to Graduates
a- NUS yo:HA@Boon Lay  
b- NUS yo:HA@Commonwealth
c- Graduate Student Apartment (GSA)

3. Meal Plans

There are no meal plans for Graduate accommodations. (Self-catering only).

. Accommodation fees

Please note that for NUS yoHA hostels, the consumption of utilities above the stipulated limit is chargeable and an administrative fee is payable at the point of check in. For the list of fees per Semester and Vacation, Payment Modes and deadlines, please click here.

5. Financial Aid/Scholarship

a- Students requiring financial assistance, please click here.

b- Students unable to meet payment deadline, please approach your respective 
    accommodation management office.

c- Students using financial aid/ scholarship to pay accommodation fees will have to arrange
    with Financial Aid Unit/Scholarship administrator to liaise with your allocated hostel
    management office before payment deadline.

Late applicants, please refer to the respective accommodation exercise for details.




a- Log in using NUS Application No (New Graduate students) or Registration No
    (Current Graduate students). Enter your NUS pin or password.
    For password assistance,
    New Graduates - Please contact your Faculty Graduate Administrator.
    Current Graduates - Please proceed personally to Computer Centre level 1 IT Care
    counter with your student card to reset your password.


b- Prepare online payment mode (mode of payment is via Master or Visa debit/credit only).

c- Print or save the online acknowledgement page as proof of payment and submission.




a- You may check your NUS email for accommodation results after the Results day.

b- If you have not heard from us after 3 days of the official results, please inform us by
    completing the online form at

c- Successful students have to accept the offer online before deadline.
    If you miss deadline for acceptance, your offer will automatically be withdrawn.
    Pay $200 accommodation advance payment online (mode of payment is via Master or
    Visa debit/credit only).
    Print or save online acknowledgement page as proof of payment and acceptance.

d- Unsuccessful students should start their search for alternative accommodation.  
    



1. Check-in Procedure

a- Please refer to the respective exercise for check-in details.

b- For those wishing to check-in after office-hour, please contact respective
    accommodation management office (requests are subject to the accommodation's
    approval).

c- For early check-in dates before the start of semester, please refer to your offer letter.
    
d- For late check-in (from 4th day of the semester onwards), please email your
    respective accommodation management office at least one week before start of semester
    to hold your reservation. Full accommodation fee still applies. If no email notification is
    received, your offer will be cancelled and any advance payment will be forfeited.

2. Payment of Accommodation Fees

a- Students will be issued an invoice upon check in and are expected to make payment for
    any outstanding accommodation fee within 7 calendar days from check-in (with exception 
    for those who indicate in their online application payment via stipend.
    Please notify your respective accommodation management office during your check-in if
    you are paying via stipend.
   
b- For Stipend, you should email to your stipend administrator and cc your
    accommodation management office before your check-in to officially allow the
    disbursement of your stipend for accommodation fee settlement. If your stipend is not
    sufficient to settle the fee, you must make the balance payment within 7 days of your
    check-in.

e- Other payment modes may be made at the respective accommodation's management
    office (not applicable to NUS yo:HA@Commonwealth and NUS yo:HA@190 Boon Lay
    Hostel) or the Student Service Centre. Click here for more information on

f- Queries on termination/cancellation of stays or accommodation fees/charges/payment
    related matters or maintenance related matters, please contact your respective
    accommodation management office.




a- Students must check-out by the last day of your stay period as reflected in your
    accommodation offer letter unless you have applied to extend your stay into the vacation
    period.

b- Students planning to stay during Vacation, please apply during Vacation exercise. If you
    miss the application, approach your current accommodation to enquire.

c- Complete your full check-out with your accommodation management office. Ensure to
   clear all belongings. You may store your belongings at Private Storage Companies.

d- Any items left behind will be removed and disposed by management office.

e- Students found to be overstaying will be subject to disciplinary action and/or financial
    penalties.

f- Residents will only be considered as officially checked out upon their completion of
   the required check-out procedure and the return of their unit/room keys or transporter
   (where applicable). Failing which the resident may be subject to financial penalties and/or
   disciplinary action.
