SafetyMation 2010

Calling all NUS staff and students!

The Office of Safety, Health and Environment is inviting staff and students to participate in the 2nd run of our Safety & Health promotional programme entitled "SafetyMation". Use your creative talents in digital animation to capture and share safety and health best practices in laboratories.

The purpose of this programme is to reward creative talents of our staff and students in developing digital animated clips that capture the safety and health best practices in laboratories. OSHE would then use these clips for sharing with the rest of the University community.

Staff and students are therefore invited to develop digital animated clips on issues such as
  1. Safe handling of sharps,
  2. Safe use of laboratory glassware, machines, equipment, etc
  3. Importance of following safety and health regulations, rules in laboratories
  4. Safe handling of chemicals, radioactive and biological materials
Rules of the Competition
  1. Each team should have a minimum of two members and a maximum of six members, comprising of all students or a mixture of staff and students or all staff within or across departments.
  2. This competition is not open to all Safety and Health Professionals of NUS, and staff of Office of Safety, Health & Environment.
  3. When a project is submitted for Safetymation, it cannot be submitted for SHIP and vice versa.
  4. The production show time should be no more than 10 minutes, and in wmv format. All submissions are to be in CD format only. No other form of submission will be entertained.
  5. Only students and staff of NUS are eligible to participate in this competition.
  6. All registration forms for this competition must reach the Office of Safety, Health and Environment by 31 August 2009.
  7. The completed production should be submitted to the Office of Safety, Health and Environment via CD format by 30 November 2009.
  8. The judges' decision is final and no correspondence would be entertained.
  9. The winning project will be announced during the NUS Annual Award Ceremony 2010, which will be held in March 2010.

Gold (x1) Cash Prize of S$2,000 + Certificate of Participation

  • Registration form (by 31 August 2009)
