Online English language Quiz - answer 10 questions on grammar and usage...

(30 Jul to 17 Aug 2007)

Try the quiz and win a prize! All you need to do is to score 8 points and above, print out the score report and bring it to the Centre for English Language Communication (CELC) to collect your prize. All prizes should be collected by 24 Aug 2007.


NUS Matriculation Fair: 30 July - 2 August 2007

A PROSE booth will be set up at the coming Matriculation Fair. Come and collect your goodies from us at the MPSH1!


PROSE Forum: Good English, Bridging Cultures

The PROSE Forum is your opportunity to hear from and interact with two highly respected individuals from the fields of business consulting and medical research. Ms Miranda Lee, Partner, Business Advisory Services, Ernst & Young, and Dr Edison Liu, Executive Director, Genome Institute of Singapore, will be sharing their thoughts on the role of good English in their chosen professions.  After a brief time of sharing, our two speakers will answer your questions and respond to your concerns.

In addition, the top three prizes for the Eye on English contest will be announced at the end of the Forum. Come to learn from our speakers and participate in the final judging of our English photo contest.

Goodie bags and lunch will be provided for the first 200 participants, as well as several lucky seat prizes, so be sure to arrive early and be seated by 12:15 pm.

Eye on English Contest (For NUS staff and students)

Spot signboards written in poor English and win great prizes!

Have you been irritated or confused by signs written in poor English in Singapore? Then submit photographs of them between 10 January and 21 February 2007 to the PROSE “Eye on English” Contest. If your entry is selected, you stand to win an attractive cash prize. 

Grand prize:        $300
Second prize:      $200
Third prize:         $100

Book Vouchers will also be given to participants whose entries are displayed on the contest website. The top 3 winners will be ranked on 1st March.  You will decide who these top three winners will be!
