The Centre for Development of Teaching and Learning (CDTL) invites all who are involved with education at NUS to the Higher Education Campus Conference (HECC) 2023, which will take place on 7 December 2023 (Thursday) at the Shaw Foundation Alumni House.
Theme
HECC 2023 will focus on the theme of ‘Navigating Uncharted Frontiers’. As we forge ahead beyond the pandemic, we are confronted with both opportunities and challenges, including completely new and unseen ones that could potentially transform and/or disrupt the higher education landscape. These include the much-publicised impact of artificial intelligence (AI). The easing of pandemic-related restrictions that promoted the freedom of interactions and movement has allowed for engagements across campus, catalysing the design of interdisciplinary courses. Similarly, the opportunity for engagements with different communities outside the campus, both within and beyond Singapore, has encouraged the development of courses that include diverse partners.
Sub-themes
We invite submissions on the following sub-themes:
AI and Education
Even as AI tools continue to be developed, we want to consider how these tools can be harnessed for teaching and learning in higher education.
Communities and Education
Through engagement with diverse communities, we want to consider how these partnerships can enhance the learning of our students to nurture them to be active citizens of the world.
Interdisciplinarity and Education
Working with others across disciplines, we want to consider how these collaborations can encourage our students to think critically and creatively from a wider and more comprehensive perspective.
