The Education Grant Writing Course is designed with a focus on guiding participants to prepare a formal grant proposal to apply for research grants in higher education and Singaporean schools. In addition, the course aims to foster cross-institutional collaborative projects. This course is jointly conducted by colleagues from ALSET and CDTL and consists of three separate sessions to cater to different target audiences.

Session 1:
Education Grant Writing Course – Overview of educational grant proposal writing
Date: Thursday, 24/02/2022
Time: 10.00 am - 12:00 noon

Target audience: All faculty members

This session is designed to cater to anyone who is keen to learn more about the educational research grant opportunities and how to go about preparing a proposal for specific grants - e.g. Teaching Enhancement Grant (TEG), MOE Tertiary Research Fund (TRF) and MOE Education Research Funding Programme (ERFP). Participants will be encouraged to discuss and share their experiences in grant writing and to explore the ‘dos and don’ts’ of grant proposal writing. We will also be sharing the use of the ALSET Data Lake for educational research purposes.

Session 2:

Date: Thursday, 10/03/2022
Time: 10.00 am - 12:00 noon

Target audience: Faculty members who intend to apply for MOE TRF grant, ERFP or TEG grant

This session is designed for faculty members who are ready to apply for an educational research grant. Participants will need to bring along and work on a draft proposal or research project that they have put together initially. They will be guided by experienced facilitators to develop a proper grant proposal in education, through key Theoretical framework and main Research approaches. There will be opportunities to analyse and discuss examples of successful grant proposals.
