Abdel Halim SYKES has been a dedicated educator since the mid-1980s teaching learners in Europe, Africa, the Middle-East and Asia at a variety of academic, vocational and professional levels. Halim's teaching contributions to NUS include, for undergraduates, PR4196 Conducting and Communicating Pharmacy Research (Co-coordinator) and ES1541 Exploring Science Communication through Popular Science, and for post-graduates, ES5001A Intermediate Level Writing, ES5002 Advanced Level Writing, ES5101 Technical Communication for Engineers (Coordinator), GS5002 Academic Professional Skills and Techniques, and GS6889B Academic Skills and Research Ethics. Halim has also developed, designed and delivered numerous academic and professional skills enhancement workshops and consultancy courses. He has contributed to CELC's Assessment Committee and the Writing & Communication Hub, and currently sits on the Search Committee.
