Brenda YUEN is a Senior Lecturer at the Centre for English Language Communication, where she has taught and coordinated academic writing, critical thinking, and science communication courses. She holds a Doctor of Applied Language Sciences from the Hong Kong Polytechnic University (Humanities Doctoral Scholarship), an MPhil in English and Applied Linguistics from the University of Cambridge (Chevening Scholarship), an MA in English Language Teaching and a Postgraduate Diploma in Education from the Chinese University of Hong Kong.

Brenda is involved in the development and administration of large-scale English placement tests for NUS undergraduates and postgraduates, and assessment quality assurance through quantitative data analysis, particularly using Rasch analysis. Her key research areas are criterion-referenced assessment and feedback literacy development in higher education. Her recent research focuses on the impact of technology-enhanced dialogic feedback on student feedback literacy and writing competency development.
