Led by Music Director Mr Francis Tan, InTempo: Music in Living Technicolour aims to illuminate the use of instrumental colours to portray human emotions such as love, grief, hope and joy.
Technicolour is a process of colour cinematography using synchronized monochrome films, each of a different colour, to produce a colour print. Similarly, music comes alive when instrumental colours are combined in various configurations. By showcasing the myriad woodwind, brass and percussion colours in harmony, ‘we hope that our music will breathe new life to such raw yet commonplace emotions people grapple with daily. The repertoire for InTempo will include pieces such as Concerto for Wind Orchestra by Koh Chang-Su, Morceau Symphonique for Trombone and Band by Alexandre Guillmant, and 3 Miniatures for Tuba and Wind Ensemble by Anthony Plog.
