Abhishek brings along diverse experience through working in some of the most successful companies in Fintech and ecommerce industries in Asia-Pacific markets. After relocating to Singapore from Hong Kong in 2011, Abhishek has worked in various leadership positions for Adyen, Zalora and is currently working with Visa Inc. based out of Singapore.

In his current role as Head of Merchant Sales and Acquiring for Visa Singapore, Abhishek is driving expansion of Visa’s acceptance, ecommerce growth, relationships with acquirers/merchants and leading the projects related to Singapore’s Smart Nation priorities. One of his key achievements was enabling use of Visa cards across all MRTs and buses in Singapore.

Prior to joining Visa, Abhishek worked as VP, Partnerships APAC for Adyen, which is one of the biggest fintech players and the most advanced payment acquirers in the world. He was responsible for building strategic products and partnerships with various payment providers helping the expansion of Adyen’s global customers such as Netflix, Google, LinkedIn, Expedia etc. into APAC markets.

At Zalora he was heading the Payments and Data Analytics departments for all Southeast Asia markets. He was responsible for launching new payment methods, increasing conversion rate, and protecting against frauds for the different payment channels. Additionally, he and his data analytics team worked closely with the management team to help them in making fact-based decisions by converting data into insights. In the early days of his career, Abhishek worked in the technology sector in India with Infosys and wrote many lines of code to automate the issuance of Amex cards worldwide.

Abhishek holds an MBA degree from the Chinese University of Hong Kong (CUHK) and during the program he did a 6 months exchange program with NUS Business School. He received his Bachelor of Engineering degree majoring in Computer Science in India.
