Forest ecology; forest inventory; carbon and biomass estimation; forest disturbance; remote sensing

Research interests

Ankit's research focuses on using remote sensing technologies for mapping and improving estimates of carbon and aboveground forest biomass. He is also interested in quantifying forest resources impacted by forest disturbance events.

Biography

Ankit is a Postdoctoral Research Fellow at the Centre for Nature-based Climate Solutions. He holds a PhD in forest ecology, with a focus on combining ground data with remote sensing data, and model this combination through mathematical models to map and estimate forest resources across various domains (administrative units, pixel-based, forest disturbances) in temperate forests of France. In his current postdoctoral research, Ankit is building on the work from his PhD, but lays focus on improving estimates in tropical forests in Southeast Asia.
