Mr. Li Yi

Academic Qualifications

Ph.D. student, Cartography and Geographic Information System, Faculty of Geographical Science, Beijing Normal University, Beijing, China. 2021 - Present.

M.S. student, Cartography and Geographic Information System, Faculty of Geographical Science, Beijing Normal University, Beijing, China, 2019 - 2021.

B.S., Geographic Information Science, School of Geographical Science, Nanjing University of Information Science and Technology, Nanjing, China. 2015 - 2019.

Research areas

LiDAR Radiative Transfer Modeling and Simulation; Vegetation Structure Parameter Retrieval

Research interests

Li's study aims to develop vegetation vertical structure parameters (e.g., leaf area index vertical profile) retrieval methods using UAV, airborne and spaceborne LiDAR data. His research focuses on how to physically model the laser pulse transport and how to accurately retrieve biophysical parameters over heterogeneous forest canopies.

Biography

Li is a PhD student at Beijing Normal University. He joined the Center for Nature-Based Climate Solutions with a scholarship from China Scholarship Council.
