Professional Certificate in Carbon Services and Trading
Overview
Through 8 days of dialogues with academic, industry and government representatives, participants will be equipped with industry-relevant insights to the latest trends in carbon market developments, project development considerations and scientific methodologies and technologies for carbon measurements.
They will also gain insights on Article 6 of the Paris Agreement and the eligibility criteria for Singapore’s International Carbon Credit (ICC) Framework, which are imperative for professionals working in carbon services and trading sector.
By working on a group project throughout the course, participants will apply their knowledge to critically analyse different project designs and measurement, reporting and verification (MRV) processes of real-world carbon projects, thereby reinforcing their learning.

Learning Objectives:
- Assess regulatory shifts and emerging carbon market trends to inform decisions that are aligned with organisational goals
- Identify and assess carbon project and credit opportunities and risks for your organisation
- Appreciate the significance of partnerships with different value chain players, including internal and external stakeholders, for carbon project buy-in
- Identify latest standards, methodologies and processes to submit official verification statements to issue carbon credits
- Identify and apply best practices for project validation, continuous monitoring, verification, and data report for post-credit-issuance
- Cultivate connections with relevant subject matter experts and market participants
This programme is developed and delivered by the NUS Sustainability Academy and its network of industry experts, and supported by the Economic Development Board (EDB).
Participants can choose to attend all three courses in the same year or separately as stand-alone courses.
