Research Areas
Coastal Ecology, Blue Carbon Ecosystems, GHGs flux, Climate Change
Research Interests
My research is centered on coastal ecology, particularly examining the dynamics of blue carbon (BC) within mangrove forests and saltmarshes under climate change. It involves predicting the future states of BC in coastal wetlands and aims to unravel the impacts of elevated CO2, sea-level rise, and global warming on blue carbon stocks in these critical habitats.
Biography
Qiao Peiyang is a postdoctoral researcher at the Centre for Nature-based Climate Solutions. He has broad experience in coastal field surveys, greenhouse gas flux measurements and blue carbon stock assessments. In his current postdoctoral research, Peiyang focuses on completing the carbon inventory of blue carbon ecosystems in Singapore.
