Tenure-track Faculty Positions (NUS Sustainability Cluster)

National University of Singapore (NUS) seeks faculty candidates for multiple tenure-track appointments across sustainability. Hiring will be primarily at the assistant professor level, but exceptionally well-qualified candidates may also be considered at the associate professor and professor level.

NUS sustainability research community works closely with various government agencies and industrial partners in strong support of the National 2030 Green Plan. We offer integrated and interdisciplinary solutions that apply to a global scale, but are optimized for tropical, urban, and Asian settings, including climate change mitigation and adaptation, clean energy materials and systems, environmental surveillance and management of urban waterways, energy-food-water-nexus, sustainable urban transport systems, socioeconomic risk assessment and public policy. We nurture our students to both examine sustainability challenges and innovate system-level solutions.

We seek exceptionally talented and passionate candidates to journey with NUS in shaping the future of sustainability research and education. We are particularly interested in the following expert domains:

  • Climate Science
  • Coastal Engineering and Adaptation
  • Decarbonization and Hydrogen Economy
  • Nature-Based Climate Solutions
  • Sea-Level Rise

Candidates should have a PhD degree and postdoctoral experience in any of the following disciplines: Conservation Science, Environmental Science, Sustainability Science, Chemical Engineering, Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering, Geography, or a closely related discipline. Research connections that extend beyond the traditional bounds of Science and Engineering are highly desired. An ability to develop and maintain an internationally recognized and externally funded research program within area of expertise will be an added advantage. Faculty members will be expected to conduct multi-disciplinary research, teach existing undergraduate and graduate courses, and develop new and innovative programmes related to sustainability and climate change.

Successful candidates will be offered with joint appointments in more than one department or research centre to facilitate collaborative research.
