Ms. Wang Shufan
Academic Qualifications
PhD candidate in Surveying and Mapping science and technology, Tongji University, China
BSc in Geographic Information Science, Henan Polytechnic University, China
Research areas
LiDAR, Urban forest; Carbon stock; Forest biomass
Research interests
Shufan's study aims to estimate carbon stocks in urban forests, thus helping people to understand the gap between the current state of urban carbon and the carbon balance. Her research focuses on the current status of urban forest height, species and biomass in Shanghai.
Biography
Shufan is a PhD candidate at Tongji University. She joined the Center for Nature-Based Climate Solutions with a scholarship from Tongji University. In her PhD, she is working on developing a process framework for estimating carbon stocks in urban forests and taking the example of Shanghai, a mega-city in China, to study the current distribution of carbon stocks in the city.
