Dr. Anne K Bendt, Principal Investigator at the Life Sciences Institute and the Associate Director of the Singapore Lipidomics Incubator (SLING), has been awarded a scholarship by the DAAD, the German Academic Exchange Service. Supported by this grant, Dr Bendt will spend 3 months in leading clinical labs in Germany, to deepen her expertise in clinical mass spectrometry by receiving hands-on training in laboratory medicine and high-throughput workflows for clinical mass spectrometry. Upon her return to Singapore, Dr Bendt shall use her expert knowledge to advance the implementation of clinical mass spectrometry in Singapore.

DAAD grants provide foreign academics and scientists with an opportunity to carry out research and advance their education in Germany. There are funding programs for various qualification phases and stages in a career. The aim of this particular program is to support short-term research stays and thus promote the exchange of experience and networking amongst colleagues.
