Celebrating IPB University's 60th Anniversary and Strengthened Collaboration with NUS
On October 4, 2023, NUS President, Professor Tan Eng Chye, and NERI Director, Associate Professor Sanjay Swarup, visited IPB University in commemoration of IPB University’s 60th Anniversary.
During this momentous visit, Professor Tan Eng Chye delivered an inspiring speech titled "Fostering Research, Innovation, and Enterprise Ecosystem in Singapore: Role of Academia and Industry." His insights illuminated the critical role academia plays in shaping innovation and entrepreneurship.
The highlight of this visit was the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between National University of Singapore (NUS) and IPB University. This MoU solidifies our commitment to foster academic excellence and develop scientific and educational programs in various domains, with a special emphasis on agri-entrepreneurship, social enterprise, and sustainability. This partnership builds upon our already thriving collaborations, including our joint work on the Integrated Tropical Peatlands Research Programme (INTPREP), a multidisciplinary research initiative focused on Indonesian study sites, hosted at NUS Environmental Research Institute (NERI).
This MoU signifies our dedication to exploring broader avenues of collaboration, leveraging the unique strengths and capabilities of both institutions. Our shared goal is to generate more impactful outcomes that will benefit society and pave the way for future generations.
As we celebrate IPB University's rich history and look forward to an even brighter future, we are excited about the endless possibilities that this strengthened collaboration will bring. Together, we will continue to push the boundaries of knowledge and innovation.
