Charting the Path Forward: Clean Air Workshop Highlights!

NUS Environmental Research Institute (NERI) had the privilege to jointly organise a workshop on “Clean Air for Singapore: Charting the Path Forward with Science and Innovation” with the National Environment Agency (NEA) and the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) Singapore Office on 20 Sept 2024. This workshop seeks to advance knowledge in air quality management and control, and to kickstart the development for Singapore’s next bound air quality strategy.

The workshop brought together a diverse group of stakeholders from Academia, Industry, Government, and Non-government Organizations (NGOs). Through interactive focus group discussions and sharing sessions, we identified the key drivers for Singapore’s air quality, highlighted emerging issues, and explored potential solutions and strategies to sustain and improve our urban air quality. The workshop also covered various relevant domains, including on socio-economics, policy, science, technologies, and the essential research and development required to tackle current and future air quality challenges.

At NERI, we are committed to develop integrated sustainability solutions for the environment. By fostering close collaboration with government agencies, NGOs, and leading academic partners, we ensure our research consistently addresses real-world issues and paves the way for a sustainable future.

Together, we Coordinate-Integrate-Facilitate for a Sustainable Future.
