🌟 Highlighting NERI’s Sustainability Research at SFA-NUS Science Day 2023 🌟

The NUS Environmental Research Institute (NERI) was given the privileged opportunity to participate in the SFA-NUS Science Day 2023, which took place on September 25, 2023, at the NUS U-Town Stephen Riady Centre.

Since NERI has always been committed to studying food, water, and environmental sustainability, this year’s theme was spot on. Assoc Prof Sanjay Swarup, Director of NERI, shared an overview of NERI’s research and it far-reaching implications for achieving sustainability. Our studies extend beyond the theoretical and incorporate both basic and practical considerations, guaranteeing practical application.

The fascinating displays of posters and exhibits highlighting NERI’s research were well-received, and the collaborative atmosphere was fostered by our dynamic, interdisciplinary research teams who actively engaged with participants.

Sustainability professionals and advocates from the food, water, and environmental sectors gathered for this event. The Singapore Food Agency (SF), National Environment Agency (NEA) and Public Utilities Board (PUB) were just some of the key organisations represented at this event, along with other local businesses and educational institutions.

NERI is pleased with the significant role it played in this gathering, which allowed for the sharing of information and the beginning of new research partnerships. We think these collaborations are critical for promoting creativity and long-term viability in these fields.

We appreciate everyone who came out to support SFA-NUS Science Day 2023.
