NUS showcased current research and technologies at SIWW 2022
Singapore International Water Week (SIWW), the biennial event was finally successfully held this year at Sands Expo & Convention Centre, Marina Bay Sands, Singapore, from 17 to 21 April 2022.
Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the last SIWW event was virtual but this year, the organizer welcomed both local and international delegates back to Marina Bay Sands.
Led by NUS Environmental Research Institute (NERI), relevant and current research and technologies from the NUS community were selected to exhibit at National University of Singapore (NUS) Booth in Marina Bay Sands under the theme “Tackling Environmental Challenges of Today and Tomorrow”.
The NUS Booth design depicts tiny seedlings germinating into a forest. The concept was illustrated by the exhibits of NUS research symbolizing incubation of innovations and technologies in a green sustainable environment.
There were a total of nine exhibits showcased in the different environmental domain areas, namely; Climate Change Mitigation and Adaptation, Waste to Resource, Environmental Surveillance and Treatment, and Sustainable Farming.
Apart from the exhibits, there were E-Posters of the various research domains on NUS Sustainability and Urban Solutions, namely, Urban Heat Resilience, Green Energy Technologies, Agriculture-food Technology, Coastal Engineering & Flood Prevention, Nature-based Climate Solutions and Water Security & Policy; as well as an overview of NUS’ approach to technology transfer led by Industrial Liaison Office (ILO).
