Best Poster Award Winner

I am delighted to share the success of the NUS Environmental Research Institute (NERI) team at the 5th International Water Association (IWA) Resource Recovery Conference, held in Shenzhen, China from November 1-3, 2023.

This year's conference, themed "Resource Recovery: From Innovation to Reality," provided a platform to showcase cutting-edge technologies, innovations ready for deployment, and invaluable lesson-learned experiences. It was a collaboration between the Harbin Institute of Technology (HIT), Shenzhen Water and Environment Group (SWEG), and the IWA Resource Recovery Cluster, with NERI, NUS as one of the supporting organizations.

Resource recovery is a core research area at NERI, and we were thrilled to participate in this prestigious event. Professor @Hu Jiangyong, Deputy Director of NERI and Director of the Centre for Water Research at NUS Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering, delivered a compelling keynote speech on "Advance oxidation processes development for industrial wastewater treatment and reuse." in the conference.

NERI Researchers, Dr. Song Xia, Dr. Zhu Jingling, and Dr. He Meibo, showcased their groundbreaking research on resource recovery from wastewater, material reuse, and the monitoring of potential leachability into the environment.

We are especially proud to announce that Dr. He Meibo received the Best Poster Award for her outstanding work in evaluating microplastic leachability from the reuse of plastics in asphalt pavement, and her contributions to the recovery of ammonium-nitrogen from domestic wastewater effluent of Anaerobic Membrane Bioreactor Reactor using polymeric hydrogel columns.

Congratulations to Dr. He for this well-deserved recognition, and to all NERI Researchers for their exceptional contributions to promoting a sustainable environment.

We extend our gratitude to the event organizers for hosting us at this enlightening conference, which provided a valuable platform for sharing knowledge and advancing resource recovery practices.
