Undergraduate Education
The NUS College (NUSC) curriculum and experience can be paired with most of the majors offered by colleges, faculties and schools across NUS. For the list of majors, click here.
The NUSC curriculum is designed to complement and enhance a student’s chosen major in your home college, faculty or school in NUS. Students can expect to take a total of 14 courses at NUSC, out of 40 courses required for graduation with an NUS degree. This will satisfy most of the common curriculum requirements in the home faculty, and general education requirements in NUS. Students may also replace some of the NUS unrestricted electives with specially curated interdisciplinary electives at NUSC.
This allows students to have an integrated NUS learning experience without having to read more courses than NUS students who are not in NUSC, as well as unparalleled flexibility to pursue multiple pathways and specialisations, such as double degrees/majors.
The 14 courses comprise Foundational & Common courses – covering Critical Competencies and Global Orientation, a wide array of advanced interdisciplinary electives under the Making Connections courses, and a team-based Impact Experience Project.

Global Pathways at NUSC is a range of immersive international programme offerings which aims to crystallise the foundational learning of global perspectives and world issues.
There are five main pathways that students can choose to fulfil the NUSC Global Pathways requirement – the Global Experience Course (GEx), NUS Overseas Colleges (NOC), Student Exchange Programme (SEP), NUSC’s Double Degree Programmes (DDP) and Regional Impact Experience (IEx) Projects. Global Pathways is a graduation requirement for all NUSC students who have matriculated from 2022.

The Impact Experience (IEx) Project is a required course where students form interdisciplinary teams and work with community partners to innovate solutions to problems that benefit society, in Singapore and South East Asia. Student groups are supervised by faculty members from one of the three clusters – Science & Technology, Arts & Design or Civic & Community. The project takes over two years for students and stakeholders to experience the fullness of impact.

Growth Mentoring aims to help NUSC students have the skills and values to navigate the choices of adulting and be a positive contributor to society. Growth Mentoring goes beyond career guidance and advising. We believe in Life Design, curating experiences throughout the year that help students with some of life’s questions.

The NUS College Research Experience Grant provides funding for outstanding NUSC undergraduates to pursue research and learning opportunities locally or overseas. Examples of how recipients can use the grant include presenting a paper in an academic conference and participating in an academic competition representing NUS.

Decisions on financial aid at NUS take into consideration multiple aspects of a student's financial situation. We strongly encourage all students who feel they require financial aid to complete the financial aid application administered by the NUS Office of Financial Aid.
