Overview & Eligibility for Returning National Servicemen Reading iBLOC / Special Term Courses Prior to Registration as Full-time Undergraduates

Needy prospective NUS full-time undergraduate students who have/are

·         Applied for and obtained admissions to NUS one to three years ago;

·         Deferred their studies for and completed their National Service obligations; and

·         Reading iBLOC or Special Term Courses prior to registration as full-time undergraduates,

have a few aid options available to them, including:

·         Submitting ONE Financial Aid Application to NUS to be considered for the NUS Financial Aid Package

·         Submitting separate applications for external schemes to cover their tuition fees


 

Needy prospective NUS full-time undergraduate students who are Returning National Servicemen and are reading iBLOC or Special Term courses prior to registration as full-time undergraduates, can submit ONE Financial Aid Application to NUS from early November to mid-January every year to be considered for the NUS Financial Aid Package, for both

·         Their iBLOC or Special Term courses; and

·         The upcoming Academic Year in August (there is no need to submit an additional application). 

The package will only include the NUS Study Loan for iBLOC or Special Term courses, although it will include both loans (repayable) and bursaries/grants (non-repayable monetary awards) for the upcoming Academic Year (see details at Overview & Eligibility for Full-time Undergraduates.)

Eligibility for the NUS Financial Aid Package for iBLOC or Special Term courses is based on the applicant’s Per Capita Income or PCI, which is the GHI divided by the number of family members in the household.

You qualify for the NUS Financial Aid Package if you are a Singapore Citizen (SC) or Singapore Permanent Resident (SPR) of PCI ≤ S$2,700.  You may be considered for the following scheme when you apply for the NUS Financial Aid Package (apply here).

Needy prospective NUS full-time undergraduate students who are Returning National Servicemen and are reading iBLOC or Special Term courses prior to registration as full time undergraduates, can submit separate applications for the following schemes from December to January to external organisations if they require more aid to cover their tuition fees.
