Our Chief Risk Officer

Dr Martin Leo

ABOUT OUR CRO

Dr Martin Leo is our Chief Risk Officer overseeing pre-emptive, preventive and recovery measures concerning both strategic and operational risks in National University of Singapore.

Prior to joining NUS, he has three decades of experience in the financial services industry holding regional risk leadership positions at Citibank, ING, Morgan Stanley, and State Street Bank. In these roles, he enhanced risk governance and incorporated transformative practices to achieve risk identification and reduction.

Dr Martin also serves as an Adjunct Professor in the Department of Finance at the SP Jain School of Global Management. He is a regular speaker at risk management conferences covering a wide range of topics, including operational risk management and fintech.

Dr Martin obtained an MBA (Finance) from the Institute of Technology and Management in 2002, and a Doctorate from the SP Jain School of Global Management in 2020. He is a certified Financial Risk Manager from the Global Association of Risk Professionals and certified ESG Analyst from the European Federation of Financial Analysts Societies.

At ORMC, Dr Martin will lead our teams in strategy development and implementation, innovating ways to address strategic risks arising from emerging trends and forces, as well as to shape NUS ORMC as a thought leader in risk management within the Institutes of Higher Learning sectors and beyond.
