At Office of Student Affairs, we are committed to foster a safe and nurturing residential environment for NUS students who are staying on campus. Playing a vital role is the team of Resident Staff, comprising Masters and Resident Fellows (RFs).
Masters (NUS hostels)
A Master is a full-time Academic Staff member appointed by
Vice-Provost (Student Life) to head a hostel. Working closely with OSA and RFs, the Master
• provides leadership and direction for the development of the hostel;
• oversees the administration, programming, management and operation of the hostel;
• manages the overall welfare, discipline and quality of residential life for students residing in the hostel.

Resident Fellows (RFs)
Resident Fellows (RFs) are full-time Academic or Executive & Professional Staff members appointed by the
Dean of Students to live in a Hall of Residence. They work closely with the Hall Master, other members of the Senior Common Room Committee (SCRC), the
Junior Common Room Committee (JCRC) and Hall Administration Office to enhance the residential life experience of student living in the Hall. In addition to serving as mentors, advisors and resource persons to the student residents, they also play a key role as community builders and care members.
