The Junior Common Room Committee (JCRC), is the elected undergraduate council body in a Hall of Residence. The JCRC oversees the welfare, planning of events and the orderly conduct of the communal affairs of all hall residents. It operates under a Constitution approved by the Hall Master.
The JCRC works closely with the Senior Common Room Committee (SCRC) to ensure that events are carried out smoothly and that residents’ needs are met and their voices heard. In addition, the JCRC functions as a bridge between the University Administration, Student Union, and the JCRCs’ of other Halls of Residence.
Hall residents elect their President and Vice-President of the JCRC annually. The JCRC comprises 9 to 11 positions with different roles and responsibilities.
