Double Degree in BCOMP (CS)(Hons) and BBA (Acc) Programme

Programme Structure / 2016 Cohort

##: NUS will adopt three new academic terminologies from 1 August 2023 - “Module” will be renamed “Course”, “Modular Credit (MC)” will be renamed “Unit”, and “Cumulative Average Point (CAP)” will be renamed “Grade Point Average (GPA)”. The definition of a Module/Course and MC/Unit will remain the same, and there will be no change to the computation of the CAP/GPA.

CS Foundation 36 36 36 Students read 36 MCs for CS Foundation. Students read CS2103 in place of CS2103T.
CS Breadth and Depth (excluding Industrial Experience Training / BComp Dissertation) 32 36 38 Students read an appropriate number of MCs for CS Breadth and Depth. On fulfilment of at least a CS Focus area from the 24 MCs of CS modules, students may complete the remaining MC requirement by using common modules not double-counted elsewhere. They must have at least 12 MCs of modules at level-4000 or higher. (refer to Table C: List of Common Modules).
IT Professionalism 12 12 12 Students take ES2002 in place of CS2101.
Mathematics and Sciences 28 28 28 Students read the required MCs for Mathematics and Sciences. See Note (1).
Industrial Experience Training / BComp Dissertation - 12 12 12 Students can apply to read an honour dissertation in place of Industrial Experience training. In order to get Highest Distinction, student must pass CP4101 BComp Dissertation. B.Comp. Dissertation is mandatory for students in Turing Programme.
(D) Common Modules Refer to Table C Maximum 30 MCs may be double-counted as common modules:
  • Two core modules from Table C1; and
  • From Table C2:
    • Maximum three BIZ Modules;
    • Maximum three CS Modules
(New modules may be included when introduced later).
(E) Unrestricted Elective 4 20 16 14 Exempted for DDP

Notes

  1. MA1301 is waived for students with A-level or H2 pass in Mathematics. The 4 MCs gained from the waiver should be used to read another module. PC1221 and PC1222 are waived for students with A-level or H2 pass in Physics. The 4 MCs gained from the waiver should be used to read another module. For Double degree programmes, students with such qualification are not required to replace the corresponding MCs towards CS programme requirements.
  2. Compulsory Internship
    BBA (Acc) and BBA (Acc Hons) students must also complete an accounting-related internship. Click here for more information.
  3. Due to the many permutations available, students reading this programme will construct a personalised double-degree programme curriculum with the help of DDP administrators from both faculties.
