Duties and
Responsibilities

As a Preliminary Reviewer:

  1. To conduct preliminary ethics reviews for NUS research studies to ensure they comply with Singapore’s regulations and are in accordance to NUS’ policies and guidelines.

  2. To be a resource person for NUS researchers, study personnel and administrators by answering questions related to their IRB applications.

  3. To participate in the development and subsequent implementation of institutional human research protections’ policies, procedures and guidelines.

  4. To provide administrative support within the department and for other NUS departments regarding research compliance matters or ethics review.

  5. To maintain IRB study-related documentation in accordance with NUS policies on data security and protection.

  6. To meet expectations and timelines of the stakeholders involved in the ethics review process.

  7. To perform any other ad-hoc job-related duties as assigned.

Qualifications

 

  1. Minimum Bachelor’s Degree. Preferable fields include in Science/ Life Sciences/ Health Sciences/ Pharmacy/ Medicine/ Nursing/ Psychology/ Social Work/ Sociology/ Liberal Arts or similar from an accredited university. Fresh graduates, MSc holders and those with an interest in research ethics/ human welfare protection are welcome to apply.

  2. Possess strong oral, written communication and interpersonal skills in order to manage cross-functional, institutional relationships and ability to multitask.

  3. Proficient in the use of MS office applications.

  4. Able to work independently and effectively, as well as part of a team.

  5. Meticulous, resourceful, work well under pressure, fast and keen learner.

  6. Experience in research conduct and administration / research ethics / research compliance / regulatory affairs would be an advantage.

 Management Assistant Officer

 Duties and
 Responsibilities 

  1. To receive and process research applications submitted by researchers/ student researchers to NUS-IRB for ethics review
  2. To ensure that Legacy Submissions (i.e., applications submitted using hard copy forms) of protocol amendments to iRIMS-IRB are updated using the latest IRB-approved documentation; and conduct administrative review of these.
  3. To coordinate and prepare documents for monthly NUS-IRB review meetings.
  4. To prepare summaries of approved applications for NUS-IRB monthly meetings.
  5. To track all research reports under the purview of the IRB.
  6. To update database for continuing review of ongoing projects.
  7. To monitor and requisite stationery and office supplies.
  8. To collate and track application of all on-going research applications.
  9. To assist manager in preparing IRB’s regular reports
  10. To attend to general enquiries relating to IRB submissions.
  11. Any other ad hoc job-related duties as assigned.

 Qualifications

 

  1. Diploma of any discipline orequivalent
  2. Preferably 1-2 years of administrative support working experience
  3. Proficient in MS Office applications essential. Preferably with experience using Databases (e.g. MS Access)
  4. Good communication, organizational, time-management and interpersonal skill.
