Authentic Learning and Task-Based Self-Directed Learning

In this workshop, the presenter (a law professor) will share, by way of examples, two recent innovations in his teaching practice: authentic learning (and assessment); and task-based self-directed learning (and assessment). The presenter will identify the learning advantages produced by these practices, and will demonstrate how such practices can contribute in a meaningful way to the development of the habit of learning, setting students on course for life-long learning.
