Future of Higher Education in the Digital World

The Teaching Academy Masterclass Lecture by Professor Diana Laurillard analyses both threats (e.g. disruptive technologies, private providers and unregulated systems) and opportunities for the future of higher education. To meet the aims and purposes of higher education, Professor Laurillard suggests leveraging on the opportunities afforded by digital technologies, such as personalized learning, links between research and teaching, greater productivity and broader access to Higher Education. To show how this can be done, the lecture delves into many examples of pioneering digital tools, resources and services which enable higher education to have a broader and more inclusive reach to build a better world.
