Project Box & Tumbler

To reduce single-use disposable waste in NUS, Project Box was introduced in selected canteens and UTown food courts since 2010 and Project Tumbler since 2012.

Participating outlets include:

• UTown Fine Foods
• UTown Foodclique
• Central Square (Yusof Ishak House)
• The Deck (Faculty of Arts & Social Sciences Canteen)
• Frontier (Science Canteen)
• E2 Cafe (Engineering Air-Conditioned Food Court)
• Prince George’s Park Food Courts
• The Summit (Bukit Timah Campus)

Project Box is a discount scheme to encourage people to bring their reusable lunch boxes for takeaways. Customers will enjoy a $2 discount for their next meal after they have brought their own lunch boxes for 5 times.

Similarly, Project Tumbler encourages people to bring their reusable tumblers for drink takeaways. Customers will enjoy a $0.50 discount for their next drink if they have brought their own tumblers for five times.
