Jonathan PHAN is a Master of Arts graduate at the School of Languages, Literacies and Translation, Universiti Sains Malaysia, and has a bachelor’s degree in English for Professionals from the same university. Previously, he taught the Intensive English Programme at his alma mater, and was formerly a graduate research assistant. He also taught English to primary and secondary students in Malaysian schools, with some experience as a rapporteur. Although his research interests include English as a Second/Foreign Language (ESL/EFL) and English writing skills for Malaysian indigenous students (Orang Asli), he is an avid fan of the history of English, and is keen to explore the field of cognitive linguistics.

During his free time, he builds and paints miniatures for a particular tabletop game. Besides playing rhythm games, he is also constantly trying to get back into the habit of reading for leisure.
