“The Goldilocks Factor to Winning Self-Introductions: Not Too Much Too Little, But Just Right” - Workshop for The NUS Writing and Communication Hub

Introduction

This 90-minute workshop, facilitated by Lee Gek Ling and Tim Groombridge of CELC, was held on 26 October 2022 at the NUS Writing and Communication Hub.  The interactive workshop was attended by 21 participants who picked up tips on how to make self-introductions that were customised to different contexts.  The workshop emphasized the language of giving informative yet intriguing self-introductions, how to project self-confidence and personality, how to build rapport with one’s interlocutors, and how to identify a suitable USP (unique selling point) to be memorable. Participants ranged from Year 3 undergraduates to academic and executive staff.
