Welcome to the NUS Writing & Communication Hub

In partnership with CELC, NUS Libraries Writers’ Centre offers a coordinated effort to support the NUS community across all forms of writing and presentation: academic, professional, and creative.

We help students and faculty members in all types of writing assignments — from course-based writing, scientific writing to personal statements and grant proposals. We provide regular individual writing consultations and group workshops on rhetorical skills, revision strategies, and the conventions of style and structure appropriate to different modes of writing.

As consultants, we are able to provide general feedback about the articulation of ideas, tone, audience awareness, argumentation, structure, grammar, clarity, and style, regardless of the discipline, at any stage of the writing process.

Our tutors can help with any part of the writing and revision process, including:

  • Brainstorming
  • Outlining
  • Drafting
  • Argument/Thesis
  • Clarity
  • Structure
  • Style and Grammar
  • Citations and Attribution

We now also have a dedicated pool of Graduate Peer Tutors across a range of disciplines who can provide graduate students with support in different stages of their Master’s or PhD journey as well as the thesis writing process, disciplinary-specific structural and linguistic conventions.

We can also help you with any academic or workplace related presentations, or everyday English communication if English is not your first language, including:

  • Academic presentations (individual or group)
  • Q&A session/Interview
  • Facilitating a seminar/group discussion
  • Everyday English conversation
