End of the Line is a fantastical jukebox musical by NUS Stage, following Gen Z characters on a train-wreck, fanatically searching for TikToker Wendy’s disappearance. Watch them sing through grief while on an adventure against time into the great unknown.

SYNOPSIS

Wendy, the famous Tiktoker, mysteriously disappears, triggering a fanatical manhunt by a motley crew of Gen Z characters armed with a pocketful of songs about grief & identity, in a twisted train journey to nowhere.

Devised by NUS Stage, written and directed by Chong Tze Chien, with musical arrangements by Bang Wenfu, End of the Line is a madcap jukebox musical filled with thrilling episodes reflecting the trials and triumphs of life through the eyes of Gen Zs.

Join us on this manic adventure told through familiar show tunes refreshed with a new beat about life, loss and surmounting fears of the unknown.

This performance is rated R18 for mature themes and coarse language. Content warning: Mentions of drug use and suicide. Viewer discretion is advised.

Founded previously as Varsity Drama in 2006, and later renamed in 2008, NUS Stage has long been dedicated to the nurturing of talents on stage who aspire to tell the untold stories of our generation and who keenly explore the underlying social issues through thought-provoking tales of human drama. The group is strongly committed to training actors, nurturing playwrights and grooming production teams who push creative boundaries and produce high quality, artistic content that engages its audiences.


Recent productions include Blackout directed by Chong Tze Chien for the NUS Arts Festival 2022, Shook directed by Sean Tobin for the NUS Arts Festival 2021, Complicité’s A Disappearing Number, for NUS Arts Festival 2019, The Golden Record for NUS Arts Festival 2017: Brave New Worlds, which commemorated the 40th anniversary of the historical launch of the Voyager 1 space probe and The Golden Record 2.0, directed and written by Edith Podesta together with journalist Corrie Tan.
