Film Screenings
As a means of creating visual dialogue with audiences extrinsic to exhibition materials, film programmes are regularly hosted during the University semester and are developed in conjunction with key, ongoing exhibitions. These film screenings are typically co-developed with academics or researchers knowledgeable in their various fields of expertise, providing an additional dimension to the discussions orbiting the film.

Partial Bodies, Whole Worlds (2026)
What happens when we encounter the human body in partial forms?
In our latest film series Partial Bodies, Whole Worlds, we reflect on how the human body is seen, remembered, and reimagined through fragmentary forms. Taking its cue from artist Ng Eng Teng’s sustained engagement with the figure – at once expressive, intimate, and pared down – the series spanning three sessions, places his work in conversation with other bodily representations across the Museum’s collection and films across the region.

Re-Worlding Through Cinema (2025)
Drawing inspiration from the thematic threads in the exhibitions “Continuity, Persistence, Line”: Thinking Through Clay – A Selection of Works by Delia Prvački, the hull and the rig, and Unfettered Brush: The Art and Writings of Tan Joo Jong at NUS Museum, Re-Worlding Through Cinema presents a series of short film screenings that invite audiences to reconsider the contours of identity, cultural belonging, and human connection
