Adele is a dedicated rifle shooter who has made substantial contributions to the NUS and Singapore National Shooting Team. Her continuous involvement since 2012 in the national shooting scene underscored her unwavering commitment to the sport. Her impressive medal haul in esteemed competitions such as the South East Asian Shooting Championship and the SEA Games attested to her exceptional skill and prowess as a shooter. One of the pinnacle moments in her career was her participation in the Tokyo 2020 Olympics, marking a significant milestone in her journey as an athlete. Adele also represented NUS and achieved multiple medals in local competitions.
Sportswoman of the Year Koh Kai Xin, Pearlyn
Merit NUS Table Tennis
Pearlyn took part in both Institute-Varsity Polytechnic Games (IVP) and Singapore University Games (SUniG) AY22/23 and clinched first and second positions, which demonstrated her consistence performance. Pearlyn brought home silver medals in both the team and mixed doubles events and secured bronze medals in singles and women's doubles at the ASEAN University Games 2022. She also achieved a noteworthy top-16 finish in the Team category at the World University Games, showcasing her ability on a global stage. As the women's captain of the NUS Table Tennis team, Pearlyn not only led by example with her on-court performance but also embodied the spirit of sportsmanship and teamwork. She collaborated with SportSG to organise the Healthy Body Healthy Me event, which aimed to introduce table tennis to underprivileged families while sharing valuable insights on balancing sports and studies.

Lucas participated in the ASEAN University Games 2022 and secured silver medals in Singles, Men's Doubles, Mixed Doubles, and the Team category, showcasing his remarkable versatility and skill. In the World University Games (WUG) 2023, he reached the top 16 in the Team category and the top eight in Men's Doubles, a historic achievement for Singapore in WUG table tennis. As Men's vice-captain of the NUS Table Tennis team, Lucas not only exceled on the court but also demonstrated exceptional sportsmanship and teamwork. He lent his expertise and supported his teammates while managing a demanding training schedule with the National Team. Lucas's commitment extended to the community, where he collaborated with the Singapore Table Tennis Association to organise successful table tennis clinics, benefiting both enthusiasts and NUS students, exemplifying his dedication to the sport's growth.
Sportsman of the Year Once the Team Captain of NUS Judo Club, Yujie was the newly-appointed Team Captain of Judo National Squad. Not only was he the Bronze medallist for the 32nd SEA Games and 2023 SEA Judo Championships in the Individual Men's - 66kg category, he clinched the Gold medal in the 2023 National Judo Championships. Amid achieving these accolades, juggling National Team commitments, academics and TeamNUS varsity trainings, Yujie has proven that it is possible to balance these multiple priorities with hardwork and dedication. He served as an inspiration and stellar role model of a student-athlete to his junior Judokas. His achievements exuded motivation and awareness of pracitising Judo in NUS which has a ripple effect in the community.
Sports Team of the Year (Individual Sports) NUS Badminton (Women)
Merit
14 students from the NUS Badminton Women team competed in the Singapore University Games (SUniG) 2022 and Inter-Varsity-Polytechnic Games (IVP) 2023 and clinched Gold in the Team Event category. The team event consisted of 3 singles and 2 doubles per match. At the SUniG 2022 competition, the team participated in the round robin competition format and played against shuttlers from other universities. The team scored the highest number of points and came in first place. The team took home Gold for NUS when they won against Ngee Ann Polytechnic in the final match of the IVP 2023 competition.
