About NUSTA
The NUS Teaching Academy was established on 24 April 2009 as a unit under the Office of the Provost. It serves as a think tank for educational matters for the university and is made up of members called ‘Fellows’ and headed by an Executive Council.
Chair’s message
Welcome to the NUS Teaching Academy.
The NUS Teaching Academy comprises a group of passionate educator-scholars who are committed to understanding effective teaching practices to enhance student learning in higher education.
We champion the implementation of evidence-based pedagogical approaches in teaching and learning, and we drive projects that shape pedagogies and influence educational policy in NUS. Currently, we are set to investigate effective innovative and sustainable teaching practices to enhance student learning in several projects:
- Generative AI and technology
- Blended learning
- Interdisciplinarity
- Adult education & continuing education and training
- Community and engagement
- Adjunct faculties
- Student life
- Play as pedagogy
These initiatives are grounded in research and should translate into practice to enhance student learning.
While the Teaching Academy remains as a separate identity, we also collaborate with CTLT, CHILL, SCALE, the Futures Office, faculties, and other university units.
We invite you to explore the resources from the Teaching Academy’s projects and engage in the dialogue sessions that aim to connect students, faculty members, and the wider NUS community.
